Purpose and Objective:

Imagine yourself working on challenging projects in a number of distinctly different roles during the course of this two year rotational leadership development program.   During this time you will be mentored by world class leaders in their fields. This is not a program for individuals seeking a traditional technical engineering career path - this is a program for high potential candidates with the drive to accelerate their career growth.

Rotational Assignments may include:

  • Gaining invaluable front-line leadership skills and experience directing and monitoring the activities of a team of employees.

  • Providing Engineering support to production.

  • Working in a cross-functional team to successfully design and introduce new products.

  • Planning production activities to achieve customer needs, marketing requirements, inventory and service level objectives while always ensuring a continuous production flow to manufacturing.

  • Utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Tool Box concepts and tools. Apply these tools to the production area to improve Key Performance Metrics.

  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

  • Communicating with Managers and co-workers in formal and informal settings.

Requirements successful candidates will have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering. Majors in related fields of engineering study are also encouraged to apply.

  • ** GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Understanding of manufacturing concepts.

  • Commitment to a career in manufacturing.

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of ISO, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen preferred.

  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with a high degree of initiative, creativity, and problem solving ability.

  • Multi-tasking with a detail orientation and commitment to accountability in a fast-paced environment.

Product & Technical Support Manager

Position Purpose:

Plans and manages the daily activities of the product and technical support groups.   Manages telephone coverage to effectively support customer needs.  Develops and manages internal and external training programs for staff.  May handle escalated calls of a difficult nature to resolve complex customer technical issues.

The position is responsible for the following:

  • Problem account resolution globally

  • Warranty analysis and opportunity identification

  • Product improvement identification

  • Management of FCO process

  • Identification/coordination of products to be obsoleted

  • Problem part identification and warranty reduction

  • Training/certification of support/technical people in group

  • Support implementation of service philosophy across product lines

  • Improvement of data gathering from regions outside the US by system serial number

  • Statistical analysis of all relevant data, such as out of box quality, for product improvement and training recommendations

  • Support of updated RMA process to reduce costs

  • Performs all other job related duties as directed

  • Product obsolescence data collection and recommendation (working with Product Manager)

Qualifications:

  • B.S./B.A. degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 10 or more years of related experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • BS.BA, BS/Engineering

  • 6 or more years of service experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 5 years’ minimum supervisory experience in manufacturing/service environment

  • Demonstrated product expertise and management skills including resource planning and allocation, as well as yearly budgeting.

  • Strong leadership qualities must include initiative, communications, team leadership, training, coaching, planning, directing, regulations, and organization of staff in a Technical Support organization.Demonstrated skill in developing technical personnel.

  • Demonstrated strong customer sensitivity and communication skills.

  • Ability to develop and manage an expense budget.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and help solve technical concepts/problems.

  • Strong communication skills – written, oral, listening

  • Interpersonal skills – conflict management, human relations

  • Leadership – delegating, coaching, motivating others

  • Cognitive Skills – problem solving, decision making, financial quantitative analysis

  • Administrative – organizing, planning

  • Occupational/technical knowledge

  • Adaptability

  • Proficiency with computer software, presentations, spreadsheets, etc.

  • Proven technical skills in managing technical people/problems

  • Must have strong ability to work in team environment and ability to develop strong working relationships

  • Travel up to 25% - international and domestic
