Director, Global Product Management

Position Summary

As a result of the Division’s Front to Back results, this Director will be responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the various EAE Equipment products sold under the MPM, Camalot, Vitronics Soltec, Electrovert and Despatch brands.   This specifically includes the Product Management and Marketing Communications staff within the various business locations, globally.   This position will be responsible for bringing together these disparate businesses into a cohesive global organization with consistent programs, policies and procedures that enable product development, innovation and execution of roadmaps focused on enabling operational excellence and organic growth.   This role will report to the VP/GM of the Electronic Assembly Equipment Division and will be a key member of the Divisional leadership team.

This role will be responsible for Product Management and Marketing Communications staff in the following locations: Camdenton, MO, Franklin, MA, Lakeville, MN, Suzhou, China, and Oosterhout, Netherlands.

Essential Functions

  • Establish and execute strategic plans, organizational policies, and goals that drive short term profitability and long term growth by providing differentiated product, service and support.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget for the business and insure alignment with the Division’s financial objectives.
  • Full P & L responsibility for the performance of the business segment.
  • Develop expert level competency in ITW’s Front-to-Back 80/20 Business Model and support its use in executing the business.
  • Develop and maintain a strong rapport with key customers and channel partners to understand customer needs, ensure satisfaction with our products, services and sales approach.
  • Quickly recognize business trends and establish corrective action and contingency plans as necessary to protect the business and meet financial obligations.
  • Keep abreast of competitive activity to understand and enhance the business’s position in the global market place.
  • Establish a results orientated management style that measures and evaluates individual performance against financial and business objectives. 
  • Attract, develop, and retain diverse talent within the business unit so as to ensure the competency level of all employees is sufficient to be fully effective in their roles.
  • Coordinate with the global functional teams in the business to ensure cross functional and cross geographic cooperation.
  • Determine the operational strategy to include identification of where and how EAE Equipment are promoted, sold, delivered and supported. 
  • Direct and coordinate the promotion of EAE Equipment to develop new markets, increase market share, and obtain competitive market position through thinking strategically, demonstrating entrepreneurialism, experimenting, and dealing effectively with a changing business climate.
  • Identify, assess, recommend and execute acquisitions of other businesses that either enhance our existing business or compliment it in ways that can broaden our market coverage.
  • Actively participates in creating a safe and positive work environment for all employees by ensuring employees are properly trained, safety requirements are effectively communicated, and safety hazards are identified and corrected.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7 – 10 years’ global business experience with manufacturing and/or service industries
  • Established track record of building high performing teams, streamlining business processes, leading cross-functional teams and successfully interfacing with direct and indirect sales force.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated sound business judgment and contributes to the strategic direction of the business.  Proven experience balancing short and long-term strategies to drive market penetration and growth; has a broad view of the business. Strong people leadership and personal effectiveness skills. Acts ethically and with integrity in all dealings.

Travel Requirements

Must be willing to travel as necessary to fulfill the job responsibilities.  Travel estimate for this position is estimated to be 15-30%.

Customer Support Engineer

Position Summary:

This position interfaces regularly with external customers and distributors to assist with the fault isolation of ITW EAE products. Responsible for providing technical support, part identification and facilitate repairs/services in the field.  This position works to bring closure to the service jobs by tracking their progress and resolving logistic issues that prevent job closure.

Responsible:

  • This position will support Field Service Manager, Field Service Engineers, Third-party Service Representatives, and Technical Support areas. 
  • Provide Technical (fault isolation) Support to our customers on all ITW EAE products.
  • Responsible for communicating customer issues and escalating to appropriate teams as needed
  • Provide feedback to Product Support Specialist and engineering on high failure components
  • Review and recommend critical spare inventory
  • Log Out of Box Quality (OOBQ) issues reported by Field Service, 3rd party service partners or customers for factory quality review.
  • Coordinate prompt scheduling of on-site service work. Effectively coordinating with Field Service Manager to secure proper resources and validate/update division schedules
  • Perform installation/removal of company products (all systems, upgrades, modifications, and retrofits).
  • Perform quality repairs with minimum call-backs.
  • Perform/schedule Preventive Maintenance (PM) and systems checkouts.
  • Perform customer and distributor basic training on operation and basic maintenance of ITWEAE machines.
  • Support customer equipment acceptances at ITW EAE facility
  • Maintain calibration kits and calibration/verification knowledge.
  • Provide complete, accurate, and timely paperwork as required by the FS-SOP.
  • Provides training and limited direction to new employees on the team

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • AA/AS Degree (BA/BS Desired) with 2 years’ experience, or 4+ years of technical support experience.
  • Training/certification in computer (IBM based), DOS, and MS Windows environments.
  • Training/certification in electro-mechanical assemblies and basic maintenance.
  • Excellent fault isolation ability.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and computer competency.
  • Strong customer sensitivity and relationship skills.
  • Understanding of customer retention concepts.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills

Field Service Engineer (FSE)

Position Summary:

The FSE performs technical work with minimal supervision by the Field Service Manager, maintains all aspects (Service related) of his/her account base and insures all company/departmental policies are complied with.

The scope of this position, within the normal Customer Support field routines, is to perform basic work by providing professional service to our customers.  Duties include system/retrofit installation/removal, troubleshooting, and repair of all company products.  Also includes maintenance of customer files, selling maintenance agreements, supporting sales and marketing and adhering to the Field Service Standard Operating Procedures (FS-SOP).

Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation/removal of company products (all systems, upgrades, modifications, and retrofits).
  • Perform quality repairs with minimum call-backs.
  • Perform/schedule Preventive Maintenance (PM) and systems checkouts.
  • Perform customer basic training on operation and basic maintenance of ITWEAE machines.
  • Maintain calibration kits and calibration/verification knowledge.
  • Handle customer issues through prompt problem appraisal, resolution, repairs, and follow-up.
  • Maintain system applications/SMT knowledge (if applicable).
  • Provide system installation in-service training.
  • Maintain a good rapport with customers. Sales Representatives, Sales Management, and peers.
  • Provide timely follow-up to telephone calls and commitments to others.
  • Maintain field inventory, parts usage, and timely return of defective parts.
  • Maintain customer (account) files and records.
  • Maintain manuals and publications issued by ITWEAE.
  • Provide complete, accurate, and timely paperwork as required by the FS-SOP.
  • Manage Call Activity transactions in accordance with FS and TSC SOPs.
  • Provide expense control as dictated by the FS-SOP and Field Service Management.
  • Reduce identified performance deficiencies.
  • Sell Service Contracts to standards as directed by higher management.
  • Participates in the specification and development of Customer Support Programs.
  • Represent ITWEAE as a true professional demonstrating pride in self, as well as in our organization(s).
  • Perform all other functions requested that are within the scope of this job, and as deemed necessary or appropriate by the Field Service Manager.

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

  •  (Electrical) with 2 years’ experience.
  • Training (certification) in computers (IBM based), DOS, and MS Windows environments.
  • Training (certification) in mechanical/pneumatic assemblies and basic maintenance.
  • At least 2 years of Field Service experience (or equivalent).
  • Excellent fault isolation ability.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and computer competency.
  • Strong customer sensitivity and relationship skills.
  • Understanding of customer retention concepts.
  • Understanding of Account Based Field Management.

Physical requirements and working conditions:

This position requires that the candidate be able to lift 50-60 pounds without assistance and be able to bend into machinery without back restrictions.

Other Pertinent Qualifications- Candidate must have:

  • Valid (current) passport.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • The ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 85% of the time.

Electrical Engineer IV

Position Purpose

Develops and applies advanced electronic engineering theories, methods and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering / Technology, 15 - 18 years’ experience or
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering / Technology, 10 - 12 years’ experience with 3 - 5 years industry experience
  • Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering, 10 - 12 years’ experience or
  • Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering, 8 - 10 years’ experience with 3 - 5 years industry experience

Skills Required:

  • Experience in the implementation and management of large-scale projects that include mechanical, electrical, software and technical documentation development, industrial equipment design is a plus
  • Strong mathematical skills, Physics skills and optical design is a plus
  • Strong PCB and circuit design for analog and digital circuits
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership qualities should include initiative, communications, team leadership, training and coaching skills
  • Working knowledge of industrial electronics, motion control devices, PC based control systems, power supplies, motor drives, amplifiers, mechanical assemblies, software development, manufacturing practices and technical documentation is required
  • Ability to design and layout power distribution panels
  • Working knowledge of electronic assembly process is a plus
  • Computer skills must include detailed knowledge of PC operation and PC construction, familiarity with USB and PCI bus is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CAD packages is required, SolidWorks, Pulsonix, Mentor Graphics, Orcad
  • Working knowledge of MRP system such as:  QAD MFG Pro
  • Ability use and operate test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, logic, Dynamic Signal, and spectrum analyzers, as well as other various pieces of test equipment.
  • Ability to measure, test and tune motion control systems for optimal mechanical behavior
  • Ability to create electrical and pneumatic schematics
  • Experience with system regulatory/compliance requirements and safety and immunity implementations is a plus
  • Experience with motion control systems – Galil is preferred
  • Component engineering experience is a plus

   Essential function of the job (responsibilities):

  • Directs projects or major phases of design projects and coordinates the efforts of technical support staff
  • Analyzes, evaluates and plans methods of approach and organizes means to achieve the solution of complex technical problems
  • Establishes and defines the theoretical basis and principles which should apply and the estimated time, expense and manpower for completion
  • Conducts investigations or tests of considerable complexity pertaining to the development of new designs, methods, materials or processes
  • Recommends corrections, in technical analysis and design to ensure project completion
  • Perform design and testing systems including PC based computer interfaces, motion control sizing of components and integration of them into standard systems

Physical requirements and working conditions:

Normal working conditions involve seated computer work and occasional operation and work on Speedline equipment products.  Conditions include standing, 20%, bending and climbing over equipment, 10%, sitting at PC workstations, 50%, walking, 10%, light lifting of equipment or components up to 25 pounds, 10%

Travel up to 5% - 20% including international travel.

Key Account Manager Automotive

Position Summary:

The Key Account Manager will report to Key Account Director and will be responsible for managing EAE’s relationships with our major Automotive key accounts.  This role is responsible for developing and implementing account strategies to defend and profitably grow the business at EAE’s key accounts.  This role collaborates with indirect channels of Representatives and Distributors and EAE support functions to support existing business and win new business.

The scope of this role will involve the successful working relationships with customer’s procurement, quality, and operations and will lead/support cross functional teams who work closely with engineering by utilizing the ITW Innovation framework to develop new products, address customer pain points, and simplify and improve existing product offerings. 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute and deliver on sales objectives consistent with ITW’s 80/20 principles and based on the Annual and Long Range Plans.
  • Develop and implement a business plan for key accounts.
  • Lead teams to develop specific account sales and marketing strategies to win business.
  • Provide feedback on competitive situations and develop appropriate strategies to win.
  • Work with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering on customer research, project selection, innovation, and product management (inventory management, obsolescence, etc.).
  • Work with Account Managers in other geographies to coordinate worldwide account activities.
  • Network effectively both inside and outside the organization.
  • Understand and communicate global value proposition of ITW EAE.

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:
