Speedline Technologies Wins 3 SMT China Vision Awards

Franklin, Massachusetts, USA – Two recently-introduced products by Speedline Technologies Inc. earned coveted SMT China Vision Awards at the recent SMT China exposition and conference in Shanghai. The two products, which collectively took three (3) Vision Awards, are the PrinTrack traceability and verification system for the stencil printing process, and the MPM® Momentum® Back to Back (BTB) configurable printer. The awards were presented at the SMT China Vision Awards Presentation Ceremony, during NEPCON China, Shanghai, April 21-23, 2015. The three types of Vision Awards, Vision, Excellence, and Prime, were awarded as follows:

1) SMT China Vision Award: PrinTrack
2) SMT China Excellence Award: Momentum BTB
3) SMT China Prime Award: Momentum BTB

MPM’s PrinTrack, powered by Cogiscan, adds new functionality to product traceability for the stencil printing process. Working in conjunction with the Speedline’s OpenApp open architecture software system, MPM’s PrinTrack provides an easily-accessible comprehensive history detailing how and when your product was printed, the process settings, materials, and options used to print it, and all pertinent information that can be used to track products or troubleshoot the process if needed.   Traceability data across several printers is consolidated into one database residing on a server. Reports are generated that include a product history report, and more, including a list of panel IDs, circuit IDs, work order IDs, etc. produced with a specific solder paste or tooling.

The MPM Momentum BTB (Back-to-Back) Printer is designed to give the user ultimate flexibility in line configuration. It can be used as a stand-alone printer, or configured Back-to-Back with another Momentum BTB to create a two-printer, dual-lane productivity solution. Because it’s a space-saving 200mm shorter than the traditional Momentum platforms, it conserves floor space, and when configured Back to Back, throughput is increased, but manufacturing line length is not, for additional savings, i.e., 2x productivity in 1 machine length. BTB positioning of two printers in a manufacturing line enables dual lane processing with the combined output of two machines, in a single-machine line length. A Dual Lane line instead of a traditional double-sided reflow line can greatly reduce capital requirements. Dual Lane processing can deliver much higher throughput per square foot than single-lane configurations, and has the flexibility to print multiple products in a single SMT line, e.g., top and bottom side, same side, mother/daughter boards, etc.

The annual SMT China Vision Awards program features 41 categories, divided into 6 segments; judging criteria focuses on Creativity and the Advanced Nature of the entries, and their contributions to the downstream industry to reduce Costs, improve Quality, increase Efficiency, enhance Reliability, and ensure Safety and protect the Environment.
